NEW BEDFORD CITY COUNCIL


* Pilot Program that will be evaluated after one year.

* For New Bedford Residents Only !

* Participants must have positive photo identification.

* One Site Only !

* Site will be staffed by medical professionals.

* One-for- One Exchange !

* Clean needle given only when used needle is turned in which eliminates discarded needles in neighborhoods.

* Addicts must be referred to treatment within 90 days or be dropped from the program.


75 % of New Bedford's AIDS Cases ARE Caused By Addicts Sharing Contaminated Needles and then Passing It on to their Sexual partners of Children.
